Role Overview
The Lead Designer, Layout role within the Advanced Converters Group holds a senior technical leadership position focused on solving the most intricate integrated circuit (IC) layout problems. This role demands expert knowledge and analytical skills to develop innovative solutions and lead cross-organizational technical initiatives. The individual will guide teams and mentor junior engineers while influencing critical product development decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Innovate solutions for highly complex layout challenges requiring specialized knowledge and extensive analysis.
- Serve as the main technical consultant for less experienced engineers within the team.
- Lead multidisciplinary projects that have a major impact on business outcomes.
- Exert influence across organizational divisions to uphold technical excellence.
- Oversee complex IC layout projects and provide mentorship to junior design staff.
- Make pivotal decisions on IC architecture influencing product development direction.
- Conduct advanced evaluations of process technologies and implement optimizations.
- Create and refine layout methodologies and best practices to boost team effectiveness and results.
Required Skills and Expertise
- Strong technical leadership with recognized authority and influence within the organization.
- Expert-level capabilities in IC layout design, architecture, and process assessment.
- Proven track record in leading complex technical projects from start to finish.
- Effective communication and influence skills to manage upward, downward, and lateral relationships across the company.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least seven years of relevant industry experience in IC design and layout.
