Senior Layout Engineer (M/F/D)

About the Role

As a Senior Layout Engineer, you will be part of the IC design team developing high-performance integrated circuits for optical transceiver solutions. This position involves hands-on layout work on advanced SiGe BiCMOS and CMOS technologies, contributing to next-generation data center, telecom, and cloud infrastructure products.

Key Responsibilities

• Create full-custom layouts for high-speed analog and mixed-signal IC blocks using SiGe BiCMOS and CMOS technologies.
• Design layouts for optical transceiver components including transmit, receive, bias, clocking, and supporting circuits.
• Collaborate closely with circuit designers to optimize layout for electrical performance, device matching, parasitic effects, area efficiency, and manufacturability.
• Conduct and support physical verification processes such as Design Rule Check (DRC), Layout Versus Schematic (LVS), Electrical Rule Check (ERC), and parasitic extraction.
• Contribute to floorplanning, block integration, and continuous enhancement of layout quality throughout the design flow.
• Apply engineering judgment to deliver reliable and robust layout solutions suitable for high-speed product requirements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in integrated circuit layout.
• Proven hands-on experience with full-custom layouts in SiGe BiCMOS and CMOS technology nodes.
• Exposure to high-speed analog and mixed-signal IC designs, ideally related to optical transceiver or similar communication domains.
• Strong understanding of layout techniques including matching, symmetry, shielding, management of parasitics, and ensuring reliability.
• Familiarity with standard industry CAD and physical verification toolsets.
• Self-driven with attention to detail and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving capabilities.
