Role Overview

We are looking for a Lead to define and execute our Data, Analytics and AI strategy closely aligned with business goals, guiding technical teams and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to deliver impactful AI and data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and implement a comprehensive Data, Analytics & AI strategic portfolio that supports DayOne’s business objectives.
• Establish governance frameworks ensuring data quality, security, accessibility, and adherence to regulations such as GDPR.
• Lead cross-functional technical teams including data scientists, engineers, and analysts; also coordinate external resources to achieve project goals.
• Provide hands-on guidance on architectural decisions, review design proposals, and resolve complex technical challenges.
• Drive industrialization of AI solutions for scalability and reliability using tools like Dataiku, Databricks, or cloud platforms.
• Collaborate closely with business units to understand requirements and translate them into technical deployments while ensuring ongoing user support and adoption.
• Oversee selection and maintenance of data infrastructure components such as data lakes, pipelines, and databases, including deployment of tools like Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
• Lead initiatives to ensure data security, compliance, and conduct frequent audits to identify and mitigate risks.
• Champion measurement of return on investment (ROI) for data initiatives and communicate their impact to stakeholders.
• Keep abreast of emerging trends in data, analytics, and artificial intelligence, such as generative AI and automation, guiding experimentation and innovation.
• Manage expectations by aligning project scopes with team capabilities and prioritizing workloads accordingly.
• Engage and communicate strategy and progress internally with management and externally with technology partners and startups to accelerate innovation.

Experience and Expertise

• Minimum of 10 years in roles within software engineering, data, or machine learning environments.
• Proven leadership experience managing technical teams within startup or B2B SaaS product companies.
• Demonstrated success building and scaling AI/ML production systems and working with distributed, real-time data and cloud infrastructures.
• Integration knowledge with ERP systems like SAP S/4 HANA and HRIS such as Workday is highly desirable.
• Previous involvement in data center or data-intensive SaaS industries is considered advantageous.
• Experience from Big Four consulting firms, global enterprises, or Fortune 500 companies adds value.

Technical Competencies

• Strong proficiency in backend systems and architecture, including Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
• Practical experience deploying AI and ML systems into production environments, with solid grasp of MLOps and model lifecycle management.
• Comfortable working across engineering, data science, and analytics disciplines.
• Academic qualifications including a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
