Job Description and Responsibilities

• Handle pre- and post-contract quantity surveying tasks including cost estimate preparation, procurement, tendering, contract management, variations, and final accounts.
• Conduct feasibility studies and prepare procurement reports.
• Prepare and present detailed cost estimates and cost plans.
• Manage tendering processes: oversee pre-qualification, develop tender lists, assemble preliminaries, analyze tenders, and compile contractual documents.
• Manage post-contract cost variations and change control, escalating major changes to line management as needed.
• Take charge of cost checks and valuations for larger projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Generate and present monthly post-contract cost reports to clients.
• Negotiate and finalize account settlements.
• Liaise with clients and consultants throughout all project phases.
• Lead and mentor cost management teams to ensure successful delivery of responsibilities where appropriate.

Experience and Skills Requirements

• Comprehensive expertise in real estate and infrastructure sectors, preferably within professional cost consultancy environments.
• Strong measurement skills related to infrastructure and building works, emphasizing precision and efficiency.
• Experience handling interim applications, change management, variation valuation, and extension of time claims.
• Solid understanding of construction industry technicalities including diverse procurement routes, value management, and value engineering techniques.
• Proven client-facing experience with a professional demeanor and confidence in presenting to clients, consultants, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• BSc degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• At least 10 to 15 years of pertinent professional experience, ideally within consultancy.
• Professional accreditation, such as MRICS membership.
• Previous work experience in the Middle East region preferred.
• Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Strong presentation and communication capabilities, able to independently manage comprehensive work packages.
• Self-motivated and proactive in resolving program-wide challenges.
