About Tommy Gun's and the Role
Join the vibrant team at Tommy Gun's Mayfield Common in Edmonton as a Lead Barber and Mentor. You will serve as a motivational force and role model within the barber team, consistently embodying professionalism and exceptional customer service. Your leadership will support shop objectives and align with leadership directions while fostering skill development among barbers.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers and conduct thorough consultations to understand their preferences.
- Offer expert style recommendations tailored to individual face shapes and tastes.
- Exhibit mastery in technical barbering skills, including fades, clipper cuts, natural necklines, and hair texturizing, customized per client hair type.
- Build and nurture strong, ongoing relationships with loyal customers.
- Maintain cleanliness and sterilize grooming tools and stations.
- Drive retail sales by educating clients during chair time.
- Uphold and deliver the signature Tommy Gun's guest experience consistently.
- Enhance overall barber team performance through coaching and training efforts.
- Set high standards and encourage barbers to refine their skills continually.
Qualifications and Skills
- Must be a Journeyman-certified Barber or Hair Stylist, or actively completing an apprenticeship.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with a commitment to exceeding guest expectations.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing demands.
- Strong knowledge of industry trends and styles.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Willingness and flexibility to work varied shifts.
- Proficiency in a wide range of haircut styles, fades, and modern styling, plus comprehensive shave services.
- Experience in upselling retail products.
- Capability to build effective working relationships with shop management, educators, and fellow barbers.
- Confidence in providing one-on-one training and mentoring.
