Role Overview
The Laundry Room Attendant is tasked with the hygienic and efficient management of all laundry services for a world-class Dexterra camp facility. This role involves operating commercial laundry machinery to wash, dry, fold, and store a variety of linens and uniforms utilized throughout the site.
Types of Laundry Handled
- Bed linens such as sheets, pillowcases, and blankets
- Towels and washcloths
- Staff and site uniforms
Key Responsibilities
- Gathering, sorting, and processing laundry items across the facility
- Operating commercial washers and dryers in alignment with specified procedures
- Washing, drying, folding, and arranging bed linens, towels, washcloths, and uniforms appropriately
- Separating laundry properly to avoid cross-contamination
- Storing folded laundry neatly in assigned storage locations
- Keeping accurate records of linen counts and tracking as needed
- Performing regular cleaning of lint traps, machines, and laundry workspace to maintain hygiene
- Ensuring the laundry room remains orderly and tidy
- Notifying supervision of any equipment issues, damage, or maintenance requirements
- Adhering strictly to safety guidelines and protocols
- Supporting housekeeping teams with linen distribution when necessary
Candidate Profile
- Preferably has prior experience in laundry, housekeeping, or commercial cleaning environments
- Familiarity with operating commercial laundry equipment is advantageous
- Understanding of proper laundry handling, hygiene standards, and safety practices
- Capable of working autonomously and collaboratively within a team
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
- Physically fit to stand for long periods and lift items weighing between 35 to 50 pounds
- Committed to following all safety and infection control measures
