Role Overview

The Landscape Architect will manage, inspect, and review hardscape, softscape, irrigation, and public realm components on significant civic supervision projects throughout Saudi Arabia. This position ensures contractors comply with approved designs, material standards, environmental conditions, and Saudi Vision 2030 public space criteria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise ongoing landscape work onsite, including installations of hardscape, planting, grading, drainage, and irrigation.
  • Assess contractor submissions such as materials, shop drawings, mock-ups, and methods against project specifications.
  • Issue Requests for Information, Field Review Reports, and Non-Conformance Reports to guarantee design intent compliance.
  • Inspect plant nurseries to select healthy, climate-appropriate vegetation for KSA environments.
  • Manage testing and commissioning of irrigation networks, soil mixes, drainage, and outdoor lighting in outdoor civic areas.
  • Ensure safety, accessibility, and sustainable water practices within public outdoor spaces.
  • Collaborate with civil, structural, and MEP supervision engineers to resolve site coordination issues.
  • Attend progress meetings with clients, planners, and contractors.
  • Compile detailed weekly and monthly supervision reports for the Chief Resident Engineer outlining progress, quality checks, and site concerns.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or equivalent field.
  • Valid professional membership or chartership with recognized bodies such as RIBA, RIAI, CMLI, or ASLA.
  • At least 10 years of experience in landscape architecture and site supervision for major construction or civic projects.
  • Minimum of 5 years direct experience working within Saudi Arabia.
  • Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers is mandatory.
  • Strong expertise in arid climate landscaping, hardscape detailing, irrigation system design, CAD/BIM landscape integration, and adherence to KSA municipal standards.
  • Professional proficiency in English; Arabic language skills preferred.
