About the Role
KBL Environmental Ltd., a leading environmental waste management firm in Western Canada, is seeking a Labourer to join their N60 Remediation team based in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. This role supports site operations through maintenance, material handling, and safe equipment operation on projects such as demolition, remediation, and land reclamation.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of construction sites.
- Carry out routine upkeep and maintenance of hand tools and equipment; assist with loading and unloading machinery.
- Operate heavy equipment safely and effectively, including rock trucks and packers where applicable.
- Assist team members with manual tasks including material movement and tool usage.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols ensuring a secure working environment.
Candidate Profile
- Possess 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in similar labour or environmental roles.
- Hold a valid Class 5 driver's license.
- Physically capable of demanding tasks such as lifting weights up to 55 lbs, working in confined spaces, at heights, and standing for extended durations.
- Demonstrate strong mechanical reasoning, troubleshooting abilities, and effective teamwork skills.
- Exhibit excellent verbal communication skills to efficiently exchange information in a dynamic setting.
Additional Requirements
- Willingness and ability to travel to various project sites throughout Western Canada.
- Capability to work under diverse weather conditions, including temperature extremes.
- Flexibility to work day and night shifts, with shifts potentially lasting up to 12 hours.
