Role Overview
We are seeking motivated Labourers / Sample Preparers to join our Balcatta, Western Australia facility. This full-time casual role involves physically demanding sample preparation activities for our metallurgy division, working either day or afternoon shifts of 8 hours each.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Area Supervisor and Team Leaders with bench sample preparation tasks including cutting, crushing, grinding, and splitting samples under supervision.
- Operate basic laboratory equipment such as saws, crushers, and mills safely and according to instructions.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental protocols when handling samples and equipment.
- Ensure accurate record keeping by labeling, logging, and preparing control samples for processing.
- Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping within the workspace.
- Perform repetitive manual tasks consistently and safely to satisfy client expectations.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous hands-on labouring experience, preferably with some practical mechanical knowledge; no advanced qualifications necessary.
- Capability to safely perform repetitive, physical duties.
- Strong communication, organisational, and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and high motivation.
- Flexibility to work shifts as needed.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Physically fit to perform manual handling tasks.
- Proficiency in literacy, numeracy, and computer skills.
- Alignment with ALS core values and workplace culture.
Additional Information
