Labourer

About the Role

CivilandScape is seeking a skilled general labourer with experience in civil and landscape projects or similar fields. The successful candidate will contribute to various assignments across Sydney's inner city and surrounding suburbs, working on a diverse range of projects from upscale residential developments to high-rise commercial buildings in the city center. The company values applicants who are knowledgeable, presentable, and committed to quality workmanship.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of relevant labour experience.
• Strong understanding and adherence to Workplace Health, Safety, and Environmental (WHSE) regulations consistent with standards in New South Wales.
• Possession of a valid NSW White Card.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain professional appearance and demeanor when interacting with clients and the public.
• Work effectively, often independently, and demonstrate diligence in performing duties.
• Communicate competently with team members and clients.
• Support foremen, tradespeople, and colleagues with daily operational tasks.
• Clear work zones of debris and construction materials.
• Build structures such as walkways, patios, walls, fences, decks, and posts.
• Excavate trenches and carry out land clearing operations.
• Plant and care for garden beds and lawns.
• Handle loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment necessary for landscaping tasks.
• Transport materials using manual tools like shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, dollies, and by manual lifting.
• Conduct routine maintenance on tools and equipment including inspection, lubrication, and cleaning daily.
• Operate various machinery and tools, including chainsaws, jackhammers, laser levels, measurement tools, shovels, hammers, and drills.

Additional Information

• Work schedule typically runs from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday.
• Overtime and Saturday work may be required occasionally.
• Annual compensation will correspond to the applicant's experience level.
