Job Overview and Duties

This position involves various general labor tasks essential to maintaining grounds and facilities. Responsibilities include mowing lawns, laying sod, weeding flowerbeds, trimming and edging walkways and lawns. Additionally, pruning shrubs and trees, fertilizing and watering plants, clearing drainage ditches, and shoveling snow are required. The role involves loading and unloading materials, moving supplies with hand tools and equipment such as wheelbarrows and dollies, organizing storage areas, and collecting waste and recyclables. Earthwork duties include digging, filling, tamping soil and gravel, and leveling ground. You will also assist with moving heavy furniture and office equipment as needed.

• Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Driving may occasionally be required; candidate must be willing to obtain and maintain a valid USAREUR driver’s license and a Temporary Motor Vehicle Permit (TMP).
• Health screening may be conducted due to a lifting requirement of up to 50 lbs; required immunizations may apply to ensure safety within the work environment.
• Physical demands include frequent bending, stooping, standing, reaching, and working in awkward positions.
• Work occurs both indoors and outdoors; exposure to adverse weather, drafts, noise, dust, dirt, and risk of minor injuries such as bruises, muscle strains, cuts, and scrapes is possible.
• Strict adherence to safety protocols is mandatory, including the use of protective gloves, ear protection, and safety glasses.

Qualifications

• At least three months of relevant labor experience is required.
• Ability to use, maintain, and operate tools and power equipment safely and effectively.
• Capability to follow written and verbal instructions involving multiple distinct tasks without constant supervision.
• Experience must be verifiable through the resume; assumptions about qualifications will not be made.

• This opportunity is open to candidates residing within a 100 km (60 miles) radius of Kaiserslautern, including those with Spouse Employment Preference (SEP), Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP), and Family Member Preference (FMP).
