Job description
Position Overview
As a Kitchen Steward at JW Marriott Grosvenor House London, you will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and order within the kitchen environment, ensuring all equipment, utensils, and workspaces comply with rigorous standards. You will operate cleaning machines, manage inventory, and support kitchen operations in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain kitchen cleaning equipment such as dishwashing machines, hand and pot scrubbing stations, and trash compactors.
- Sanitize kitchen, storage areas, tools, utensils, knives, and equipment using appropriate cleaning agents.
- Receive food deliveries, store perishables correctly, and manage stock rotation.
- Store cleaned wares appropriately and inspect for cleanliness, returning items requiring further washing.
- Maintain trash disposal areas including trashcans and dumpster zones.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, health, and safety regulations.
- Manage and care for kitchen equipment, dinnerware, glassware, and silverware to maintain adequate supplies.
- Inspect and upkeep food transport and holding equipment to ensure proper working order.
- Report any kitchen equipment malfunctions and assist in maintenance programs.
- Uphold proper cleaning routines for service ware, floors, and dish room machinery.
- Follow procedures for breakdown and cleanup after banquets, restaurants, room service, and cafeteria operations.
- Ensure uniform cleanliness and attend COSHH training for handling hazardous substances.
- Adhere to Marriott International Hotels Limited policies and any additional tasks assigned by management.

Additional Information
The role is full time, based on-site at 86-90 Park Lane, London, UK (W1K 7TN). Working hours may vary to fulfill shift operations, generally not less than 40 hours per week. This is a non-management position. Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the United Kingdom and will be required to present appropriate documentation as per the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996.
