Kitchen Porter

Position Overview

We are looking for a Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team at Haven in Rochester, England. This full-time role involves supporting kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with basic food preparation, and ensuring efficient workflow behind the scenes. Key Duties

• Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and sanitising surfaces and equipment while adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Carry out basic food preparation like chopping vegetables, prepping ingredients, and assembling simple dishes as instructed by chefs.
• Support inventory management by organising and storing ingredients properly and unpacking deliveries.

Candidate Requirements

• No prior experience necessary; however, background in kitchen work, catering, or porter roles is advantageous.
• Demonstrate strong physical stamina and readiness to perform manual tasks including lifting, carrying, and extended periods of standing.
• Exhibit teamwork and effective communication skills.
• Availability for flexible working hours including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Additional Information

This role is offered on a full-time, part-time or seasonal basis. Pay rates can be up to £12.71 per hour depending on the applicant’s age.
