Role Overview

The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in supporting the Culinary Team with the upkeep and operations of lounge and satellite kitchens. Key responsibilities include assisting with meal preparation, cleaning and maintaining utensils, replenishing supplies, and supporting overall kitchen hygiene and safety. Collaboration with the Chef Manager and the London Bistro team is critical, particularly in preparing ingredients, assembling meals, and ensuring adherence to hygiene standards for successful meal services and events.

Responsibilities

• Operate dishwashers for cleaning all dishware, glassware, and cutlery.
• Ensure proper stocking of dishware, glassware, and cutlery in assigned locations.
• Maintain cleanliness and stock levels of the coffee machine area in partnership with the team.
• Oversee stocking and cleanliness of staff snacks, fresh fruit supplies, and refrigerator maintenance with team collaboration.
• Organize thorough floor deep cleaning weekly, particularly on Fridays.
• Provide assistance to the Chef in kitchen tasks as needed.
• Uphold and assist in implementing food safety plans and sanitation practices.
• Maintain daily cleanliness of the lounge, kitchen, and kitchen equipment.
• Manage inventory tracking and ensure all supplies for the lounge are adequately stocked daily.
• Confirm proper maintenance of kitchen equipment per manufacturer instructions and report any servicing needs.

Candidate Profile

• At least 2 years experience working within a corporate office environment.

Work Environment and Conditions

The kitchen porter role involves potential exposure to hazards such as cleaning chemicals, hot liquids, and sharp implements. Candidates must consistently work safely while sharing space with general staff in a fast-paced setting where meeting daily deadlines is crucial.

Standard working hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with flexibility required to address operational requirements.

Physical Demands

This demanding role requires the capability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
