We are seeking a commercially minded Key Account Manager to oversee and expand a portfolio of strategic distribution customers across New Zealand. This impactful position centers on driving sales growth, enhancing customer relationships, and discovering new business opportunities using relationship management, commercial excellence, and data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Craft and implement strategic account plans for principal national customers.
- Identify sales expansion opportunities across current and emerging product categories.
- Examine sales data, market trends, and category insights to uncover growth potentials.
- Leverage CRM systems, analytics platforms, and AI-driven tools for improved forecasting, planning, and engagement.
- Create and deliver comprehensive business reviews, sales analytics, and growth proposals to customers and internal teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, supply chain, customer service, and technical departments.
- Lead new product introductions, customer range expansions, and promotional initiatives.
- Maintain up-to-date records of customers, competitors, and market intelligence.
- Adhere to company policies, health and safety standards, and commercial protocols.
- Participate in conferences and events as needed, including occasional overnight travel.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven background in Key Account Management with successful customer relationship development and commercial outcome delivery.
- Experience in hardware, building products, distribution, or FMCG sectors.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation expertise.
- Experience managing national or regional retail accounts.
- Ability to analyze sales data, translate insights into actionable plans.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, Microsoft Excel, and business intelligence tools.
- Experience with Power BI, analytics platforms, or AI-supported sales tools is a plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation capabilities.
- A proactive approach coupled with a focus on tangible results.
