Overview

Join Resideo as a Junior Test Automation Engineer to contribute to the validation of innovative video products designed to "Protect What Matters Most." Collaborate closely with engineers, developers, product managers, and QA experts to design, develop, and execute automated and manual tests ensuring the reliability and scalability of our products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers, product managers, and QA analysts to interpret software requirements, design details, and user stories.
  • Create and upkeep automated test scripts, frameworks, and tools using Python or equivalent languages.
  • Integrate automated test processes into CI/CD pipelines and help sustain test execution within build and release cycles.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive test cases, scenarios, and test data aligned with product specifications.
  • Conduct both automated and manual testing, analyze outcomes, identify defects, reproduce issues, and verify bug fixes.
  • Document testing outcomes, defects, coverage metrics, and quality indicators thoroughly.
  • Adopt and apply best practices in software testing and automation techniques.
  • Contribute proactively to the continual enhancement of team workflows and tooling.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in testing, software development, or test automation, including internships or graduate roles.
  • Fundamental programming knowledge in Python.
  • Experience designing and executing manual or automated test cases.
  • Understanding of core software testing principles.
  • Exposure to Raspberry Pi platforms, embedded systems, or integration testing across hardware and software.

Preferred Skills and Attributes

  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and analytical thinking.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with clear technical communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux command-line environments and scripting.
  • Hands-on experience writing automated tests or maintaining automation frameworks.
  • Knowledge of API testing tools and methodologies.
  • Experience embedding automated tests within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency with Git or other source control management systems.
  • Utilization of defect tracking and test management software.
  • Comfort working in Agile development settings.
  • Eagerness to acquire new technical skills and increase responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate within a global team.
