Graduate Product Development Engineer

Overview

Join Resideo as a Graduate Product Development Engineer to help advance the next generation of connected security and smart-building technologies. You will focus on security video products and their integration with a variety of connected devices such as security panels, thermostats, and water-leak detectors, contributing to cohesive and intelligent home and business environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing, testing, and delivering high-quality connected products aligned with Resideo's security and smart-building portfolio.
• Work collaboratively on security video products and study their interactions with other connected devices.
• Decompose requirements into manageable development tasks and maintain updated progress, risks, and outcomes in Jira.
• Participate actively in team rituals including code reviews, stand-ups, planning, and retrospectives.
• Implement software engineering best practices such as test-driven development, version control, continuous integration, and documentation.
• Coordinate with firmware, cloud, product, and quality teams to deliver secure and reliable products.
• Develop knowledge in areas such as embedded Linux, image processing, computer vision, connected-device platforms, and AI-driven workflows.
• Contribute to fostering a supportive and inclusive technical team environment by sharing knowledge and offering assistance.
• Engage in continuous learning through research, training, community involvement, webinars, and mentorship.
• Participate in special projects advancing Resideo's strategic objectives.
• Represent Resideo professionally and develop products safeguarding what matters most to customers.

Required Qualifications

• At least one year of academic or professional experience programming in C/C++ or other object-oriented languages.
• Minimum one year of experience working with Linux operating systems.
• At least one year of collaborative engineering team experience.

• Skill in interpreting high-level requirements and translating them into clear, manageable tasks.
• Familiarity and commitment to test-driven development for durable and maintainable software.

• Enthusiasm for image processing, computer vision, and video-centric product innovations.
• Curiosity about how security cameras integrate with other connected devices like thermostats and water-leak detectors.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and eagerness to learn and support peers.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with Git and GitHub Actions.
• Experience using Jira, Confluence, or similar tools for planning, documentation, and delivery.
