Job description
About the Role
At Snowflake, we are leading the transformation into an agentic enterprise by embedding AI deeply into every role. We look for individuals who see AI not just as a tool but as a trusted partner, applying curiosity and innovation to solve problems and enhance impact in dynamic, fast-paced environments. This role focuses on redefining work by contributing to our AI-driven migration product, SnowConvert, which accelerates migration of data-centric applications to the Snowflake AI Data Cloud with speed and precision.
Snowflake revolutionized data management over a decade ago with the AI Data Cloud, supporting data engineering, analytics, and AI/ML workloads efficiently at scale. A key challenge remains migrating existing data and systems from legacy platforms. Our Migrations team enables customers and partners to modernize smoothly and securely. The SnowConvert AI team builds an AI-powered product that achieves rapid, comprehensive migration beyond simple schema and SQL translation – covering data, code, pipelines, and BI tools—with rigorous validation ensuring accuracy and readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop fundamental code conversion techniques and build robust data migration, validation pipelines, and automatic testing components.
- Support automated AI agents that execute end-to-end application migrations to Snowflake.
- Design and maintain APIs that integrate evolving AI capabilities within an agile, experimental development environment.
- Collaborate closely with the AI and FDE teams to implement and iterate architectural solutions and prototypes.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven software engineering expertise in Python, focused on performance, reliability, and distributed system design.
- Experience building agentic AI applications, particularly involving computer control or code generation domains.
- Contributions to open-source agentic AI frameworks such as LangChain or AutoGen are highly valued.
- In-depth knowledge of distributed systems, backend architectures, and API design principles.
- A proactive self-starter with strong ownership, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and independently advancing projects.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience developing high-performance backend services using GoLang.
- Solid understanding of large-scale data transformations, including ETL and ELT processes.
- Familiarity with data engineering tools such as Spark, Airflow, dbt, and Kafka.
- Knowledge of streaming architectures, event-driven systems, and asynchronous processing.
- Expertise in optimizing large data pipelines for both performance and cost efficiency.
- Background as founding engineers with ownership of major technical projects is a plus.
Additional Information
All Snowflake employees must adhere to rigorous confidentiality and data security standards to protect customer information. As we continue expanding rapidly, we seek innovative team members who embrace our values and are eager to drive technological progress.
Compensation and Benefits
