Role Overview

We are seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join our expanding Broking Operations team. You will contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of Howden Bridge, our online quote-and-bind insurance platform. This position offers an excellent opportunity to advance your software engineering career through hands-on experience with real digital products used internally and by clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain features across Howden Bridge and associated applications.
• Support implementation of new online insurance products, enhancements, integrations, and workflows.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application defects and technical issues.
• Participate in testing, debugging, and deploying software releases.
• Translate business and technical requirements into effective software solutions.
• Contribute to maintaining code quality, documentation, and adherence to development standards.
• Collaborate closely with senior engineers, Solutions, and Architecture teams, focusing on continual skill development.

Candidate Profile

• Experience in software development through previous jobs, academic projects, internships, or other relevant activities.
• Solid understanding of fundamental software development principles.
• Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Enthusiastic about learning and growing technical skills.
• Effective communicator and team player.
• Familiarity with web development, application programming interfaces (APIs), databases, or cloud technologies is beneficial but not mandatory.
