Junior Project Control Engineer – Passenger Terminal Building (PTB)

About the Role

As a Junior Project Control Engineer working on Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) projects, you will support planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, cost control, forecasting, risk management, and reporting associated with airport terminal construction and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain integrated project schedules for the PTB using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Assist in developing baseline schedules, detailed work plans, recovery strategies, and look-ahead plans.
• Analyze schedule variances and assess impacts of changes, delays, and corrective actions.
• Monitor project progress relative to approved plans, consolidating updates from cross-disciplinary teams.
• Track critical milestones, manage interfaces, oversee testing and commissioning, and coordinate handover timelines.
• Prepare regular weekly and monthly reports, dashboards, and KPI summaries for management review.
• Support cost monitoring, forecasting, earned value management, and performance tracking.
• Compare physical and financial progress to spot deviations, risks, and necessary mitigations.
• Maintain control documents including risk registers, change logs, and action trackers.
• Review schedules, progress reports, and resource plans provided by contractors and consultants.
• Verify reported progress matches actual site conditions and assess contractor productivity.
• Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely data and resolve interface issues.
• Manage project documentation, schedules, databases, and reporting tools.
• Help implement digital project controls and data analytics dashboards.
• Ensure adherence to project control procedures and timely deliverable submissions.

Preferred Skills and Attributes

• Expertise in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
• Strong knowledge of planning, scheduling, and project control methodologies
• Experience with progress monitoring and performance reporting
• Understanding of cost control, forecasting, and Earned Value Management (EVM)
• Competence in risk management and delay analysis
• Familiarity with Power BI, advanced Excel, and data analytics tools
• Proficient in project reporting and documentation control systems
• Excellent coordination and interface management capabilities
• Strong analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively under demanding schedules within multidisciplinary airport environments

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related fields
• Certifications or training in Primavera P6, MS Project, PMP, or relevant project management methodologies advantageous
• 10 to 15 years of overall experience in project controls including planning, scheduling, and cost management
• At least 5 years in aviation projects, particularly airport terminal buildings and related infrastructure including airport systems
• Demonstrated ability to develop and manage integrated project schedules and reporting frameworks
• Experience coordinating with consultants, contractors, airport systems vendors, and client teams
• Strong working knowledge of Earned Value Management, risk assessment, forecasting methods, and schedule performance analysis
