Role Overview
The Junior Mechanical Engineer will utilize at least 2 years of mechanical engineering experience, particularly with US-based HVAC and plumbing projects across various building types including commercial, healthcare, residential, hospitality, and restaurants. Familiarity with fire protection system design is a valuable bonus. The position involves collaboration with senior engineers and multi-discipline teams to develop mechanical systems from initial concepts through detailed documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing HVAC systems covering heat load calculations, ventilation systems, duct layouts, and piping schemes
- Develop plumbing solutions including domestic water, sanitary and vent systems, and storm drainage
- Coordinate mechanical system requirements with HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection disciplines
- Engage with vendors and clients regarding equipment specifications and project schedules
- Prepare reports defining design bases, cost analysis, and alternative system comparisons
- Contribute to coordinated design drawings and comprehensive project documentation
Qualifications & Skills
- At least 2 years of experience in building mechanical systems engineering
- Bachelor of Technology or Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit MEP software
- Experience with HVAC load calculation tools such as Carrier HAP or Trane Trace
- Good grasp of HVAC and plumbing design principles
- Capability to handle multiple assignments under strict deadlines
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
