Intermediate Electrical Engineer (Building Services)

About the Role

Join a global team of architects, engineers, designers, planners, and environmental scientists dedicated to creating sustainable built environments. We are looking for a motivated and adept Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join our Auckland office, contributing expertise to multidisciplinary property, building, and infrastructure projects across New Zealand and Australia, with potential APAC involvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement electrical building services systems, covering power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems.
• Contribute to the development of communication, ICT, fire systems, and related building infrastructures.
• Prepare detailed design documentation, technical reports, and specifications aligned with company and client standards.
• Assist in project planning, development stages, construction-phase activities, and provide site support as necessary.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders, collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Support proposal development and respond to project opportunities.
• Work on projects throughout New Zealand and Australia, with opportunities across wider APAC regions.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Have at least 3 years of electrical engineering experience; 3 to 5 years preferred.
• Experience specifically in building services electrical design, including power, lighting, and low-voltage systems.
• Familiarity with ICT systems integration within building projects.
• Proven track record in multidisciplinary project environments.
• Skilled in producing design documentation, reports, and specifications.
• Proficient in AGI-32 and PowerCAD software packages.
• Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal.
• Competent in client engagement and managing stakeholder relationships.
• Capable of working independently while ensuring quality outcomes.
• Additional experience in security system design desirable.
• Background in construction-phase support or providing site-based services is beneficial.
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or active pursuit of professional registration is preferred.
