Role Overview
The Junior Master Planner will contribute to master planning and urban design projects of varying scale, supporting small to large developments primarily within the UAE. Reporting to a lead urban design/master planning specialist, this role involves assisting with planning layouts, client and authority submissions, and collaborating across disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Create master planning layouts, diagrams, sketches, and illustrations using Adobe Creative Suite.
- Conduct research and analysis to support master planning and urban design tasks.
- Collaborate closely with landscape designers, architects, and infrastructure engineers to deliver coordinated multidisciplinary projects under supervision.
- Provide creative input in master planning and urban design under guidance.
- Develop technical details such as urban design guidelines and master planning numerical tabulations to ensure precise, high-quality data.
- Produce master plan drawings, reports, and presentations utilizing Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Demonstrate innovative problem-solving skills to identify effective design solutions.
- Communicate progress clearly and on time to project leads, adhering to deadlines.
- Assist in compiling submission materials for government and regulatory authorities, specifically within Dubai and Abu Dhabi, to secure planning approvals.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience generating conceptual master plan designs, illustrative layouts, and basic numerical calculations.
- Ability to update clients on project progress with prior guidance from leadership.
- Creative mindset coupled with foundational knowledge of current best practices in master planning.
- Proactive and committed attitude, willing to exceed expectations to support team leadership effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in design and numerical software including Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team with initiative and ownership.
- Competence in 3D modeling tools such as Rhino and SketchUp.
