Job Role and Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough daily inspections of all structural works on-site to ensure strict adherence to approved IFC drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and method statements.
  • Supervise contractor activities to ensure compliance with UAE regulatory standards and international construction guidelines.
  • Detect and document deviations or non-conformances by issuing Site Observation Reports (SOR) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) with clear corrective recommendations.
  • Review and validate inspection results related to concrete, reinforcement, formwork, structural steel, foundations, waterproofing interfaces, and other structural components.
  • Collaborate with project engineers, architects, and specialists to resolve structural discrepancies and confirm appropriate remedial actions.
  • Ensure contractors maintain accurate records of testing and quality assurance, including cube tests, Field Density Tests (FDT), plate load tests, and calibration certificates.
  • Verify continuous adherence to approved method statements, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), and QA/QC protocols.
  • Provide prompt and clear guidance to contractors for resolving structural issues encountered on-site.
  • Maintain comprehensive and organized inspection documentation, including photographic evidence and detailed compliance notes.
  • Strictly enforce health and safety guidelines during all inspection tasks to protect all personnel involved.
  • Utilize digital inspection platforms and QA/QC management systems for efficient documentation and project tracking.
  • Communicate inspection outcomes effectively to stakeholders through detailed technical reports.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • At least 8 years of experience in structural site inspections within the UAE construction sector, preferably with consulting firms.
  • In-depth knowledge of structural materials, workmanship quality, common defects, and deterioration mechanisms.
  • Comprehensive understanding of UAE building codes, authority regulations, and international standards.
  • Skilled in interpreting IFC drawings, shop drawings, specifications, ITPs, and method statements with high precision.
  • Experienced in using standard inspection tools and coordinating site testing and documentation procedures.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with keen attention to detail to detect non-conformances and report deviations accurately.
  • Excellent technical writing skills for producing detailed and structured inspection reports.
  • Proficiency in English communication, both verbal and written.
  • Possession of a valid UAE driving license with the ability to travel between project locations.
  • Physically able to access challenging structural areas, including confined or elevated sites.
  • Dedicated to upholding health and safety practices, professional ethics, and quality standards.
  • Adept at collaborating within multicultural teams and adaptable to diverse site conditions and weather.

Preferred Attributes

  • Certifications related to site safety such as OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent.
  • Experience in generating and handling Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and Site Observation Reports (SOR).
  • Familiarity with inspection software and digital documentation tools.
  • Knowledge of concrete testing methods including cube tests, FDT, and plate load tests.
  • Skills in photography and visual documentation for quality inspection records.
  • Proficiency in Arabic language is an advantage.
  • Availability to start employment immediately.
