Job Overview

The Junior Instructional Designer contributes to creating and updating educational and training resources based on the approved curriculum and the Systems Approach to Training (SAT) framework.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in crafting lesson plans, presentations, learner and facilitator guides, worksheets, and other educational materials.
  • Help prepare and refresh training content adhering to the curriculum, learning goals, and program criteria.
  • Utilize established instructional design templates and standards when developing training materials.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and senior staff to translate technical information into easy-to-understand learning aids.
  • Support creation of quizzes, assessments, knowledge checks, and practical tests aligned with learning objectives.
  • Review content for correct spelling, grammar, format, clarity, consistency, and accuracy prior to approval submission.
  • Update materials reflecting input from experts, trainers, reviewers, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure all content complies with branding, formatting, templates, and quality control, including ESAT guidelines if applicable.
  • Maintain organized filing systems, naming rules, and version control for all documents.
  • Monitor content revisions to guarantee only the most current approved versions are accessible to trainers and learners.
  • Assist the instructional design and SAT teams by preparing documents, maintaining meeting notes, tracking feedback, and coordinating tasks.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge in instructional design principles, adult learning theories, SAT methodology, and quality standards for training.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or higher qualification in education, training, instructional design, communications, or a similar field.
  • Up to two years of experience in training administration, content development, learning and development, or related functions; recent graduates or interns also considered.
  • Proficient English writing and speaking skills.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office suite, notably Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational ability, and document formatting skills.
  • Capable of following templates, processes, and quality standards reliably.
  • Effective collaboration skills with stakeholders and capability to constructively accept feedback.
