Role Overview
The Junior Fire Alarm Engineer, designated as a UPDA Trainee, will hold a full-time, onsite position in Doha, Qatar. The engineer will support tasks related to the design, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of fire alarm and associated fire protection systems while ensuring compliance with local codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers during site assessments and surveys.
- Prepare basic technical documents and progress reports.
- Support troubleshooting of fire alarm system issues.
- Coordinate with project teams to meet deadlines and maintain smooth workflow.
- Conduct regular inspections and verify proper system functionality.
- Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance and installation activities.
- Contribute to enhancing safety practices and quality control.
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently.
- Engage actively in training programs as part of the UPDA Trainee development path.
Qualification Requirements
- Proficiency or interest in Fire Protection Engineering and Safety Engineering related to fire alarm system design, evaluation, and maintenance.
- Good understanding of Fire Safety and Life Safety principles, focusing on adherence to relevant codes and industry standards.
- Familiarity with Fire Suppression Systems to manage interface coordination and overall system performance.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Fire Protection Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
- Basic knowledge of NFPA standards, Qatar Civil Defense fire safety regulations, and applicable industry codes is an asset.
- Strong documentation skills with attention to detail, able to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
- Effective communication abilities, eagerness to learn, and capacity to work safely in a collaborative onsite environment.
- Eligibility for or willingness to obtain UPDA registration is advantageous.
