Role Overview
We are seeking a Junior Editor to join our team, supporting post-production activities across video and photo projects. This position involves assisting with editing, managing files, and preparing content while gaining technical editing skills alongside our post-production professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit video and basic photo content intended for social media, marketing campaigns, and internal communications.
- Perform fundamental editing tasks such as cutting footage, sequence arrangement, color adjustments, and formatting.
- Help assemble initial rough cuts following briefs and directions.
- Implement revisions and address feedback as required.
- Organize project files by maintaining clear storage structures, adhering to naming conventions and version control.
- Assist with setting up projects and organizing materials for efficient editing workflows.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely project delivery and support the transition between production and post-production phases.
- Develop skills in editing software, storytelling techniques, pacing, and maintain awareness of current editing trends.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Some prior experience with video editing from education, personal work, or early professional exposure.
- Familiarity with editing tools, notably Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Strong attention to detail and passion for visual storytelling and timing.
- Openness to receiving feedback and willingness to integrate it constructively.
- Highly organized, particularly in file management and version control standards.
- Educational background or coursework in film, media production, or related areas is considered beneficial.
- Demonstrates precision and accuracy in work and a self-driven approach to tasks.
- Ability to work onsite at the Abbotsford office at least four days per week.
