Role Overview

The Junior AI Integration Engineer will collaborate closely with various business units within ZURU to identify inefficiencies and develop AI-powered solutions that enhance operational workflows. This position involves hands-on creation and deployment of AI tools including knowledge bots, workflow automations, and data analysis systems impacting thousands of employees globally. The role requires leading focused sprint sessions, from understanding workflows to delivering prototypes and support for production-grade transition.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct intensive one-week sprints partnering with business teams to identify automation opportunities and create functional proofs of concept.
• Develop AI-enabled tools such as knowledge bots, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems, and campaign reporting applications.
• Integrate AI solutions with corporate data through semantic modeling, Databricks, and multi-cloud platform connectors.
• Manage deployment and infrastructure using Terraform, AWS, and CI/CD methodologies.
• Engineer comprehensive RAG systems involving document ingestion, information chunking, retrieval optimization, and knowledge base architecture.
• Lead interactive workshops to elevate AI literacy among team members and foster self-sufficiency.
• Guide AI Champions within teams and contribute to a shared repository of AI skills, templates, and procedural guides.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript programming languages.
• Experience utilizing AI coding assistants such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude Code.
• Demonstrated ability in developing AI workflows and applications.
• Strong understanding of modern Large Language Model (LLM) technologies including agents, tool utilization, RAG frameworks, context engineering, and structured data outputs.
• Capability to analyze and simplify complex business processes to automate effectively.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise across commercial, marketing, design, manufacturing, and finance teams and to present technical content accessibly to senior leadership.
• A builder's approach focused on scalable and repeatable AI solutions over temporary fixes.
• Proven capacity to lead projects from initial discovery to working prototypes.

Preferred (Bonus) Experience

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure management tools like Terraform and AWS.
• Experience creating data pipelines or working with semantic layer technologies such as dbt.
• Knowledge of vector databases, embeddings, or information retrieval systems.
• Participation in hackathons, open-source projects, or related side initiatives with demonstrable outputs.
• End-to-end project involvement in academic, personal, or professional contexts.
