Job description
About the Role
Join one of the world’s fastest expanding consumer goods companies, currently generating over US$3 billion in revenue with ambitious plans to reach US$14 billion by 2030. As a Financial Analyst at ZURU, you will transform financial and commercial data into actionable insights that influence decisions throughout the organization — covering revenue, costs, margins, and various financial dimensions. You will collaborate closely with business teams, support forecasting and planning activities, and engage with advanced data and AI technologies revolutionizing financial processes at ZURU.
Key Responsibilities
- Convert traditional Excel reports into automated AI-driven dashboards providing real-time business insights.
- Partner with commercial and operational teams to interpret performance drivers, gather business context, and deliver concise financial analysis supporting decision-making.
- Analyze financial data including revenue, expenses, margins, and headcount to detect trends, variances, and improvement opportunities across departments and business units.
- Support monthly management reporting by producing performance reports, variance analyses, and clear narratives that make complex data understandable for senior leaders.
- Assist in preparing quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, and long-range plans by collecting inputs, challenging assumptions, and maintaining financial models and consolidations.
- Develop ad-hoc financial analyses and business cases for senior management and the FP&A Manager.
- Contribute to other finance activities such as Profit & Loss and balance sheet analyses, month-end closing, and various key finance projects.
- Build strong relationships with ZURU’s global finance teams, including the China finance group, gaining in-depth understanding of financial processes worldwide.
- Continuously enhance financial reporting and processes, automate routine tasks, create self-service datasets and reporting capabilities, and standardize templates and definitions across the group using AI tools.
- Embrace and promote a culture of continuous improvement within Finance, constantly seeking new ways to optimize workflows and challenge existing methods.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Degree in finance, accounting, economics, commerce, information systems, or data analytics is essential (support towards Chartered Accountant pathway available).
- Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modeling with a passionate curiosity for learning new technologies, especially AI tools used extensively by the team.
- Commercial insight and analytical ability to quickly identify data inconsistencies and summarize key points effectively.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable messages for senior leadership and diverse stakeholders.
- Highly motivated self-starter with creativity, energy, and determination to drive continuous improvement and overcome challenges with resilience and humility.
- The role requires full-time presence at ZURU’s headquarters in Auckland, New Zealand to maximize training and personal development opportunities.
