Job Summary

We seek a seasoned Java Backend Developer for the Corporate Credits team at locations in Mumbai or Chennai, requiring 5.1 to 7 years of experience. The role centers on designing, developing, testing, and maintaining backend applications using Java technologies ensuring high quality, robust performance, and alignment with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret business needs, create technical specifications, and execute design, development, testing, and deployment of applications.
• Develop and support applications utilizing Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, Oracle SQL, and PL/SQL.
• Handle application development, unit testing, and participate in regression testing efforts.
• Implement thorough unit testing ensuring coverage with JUnit.
• Conduct DevOps activities with Jenkins and manage builds via Maven.
• Provide detailed task estimation, planning, impact assessment, and proactive status updates to teams in Paris, India, and ISPL.
• Adhere to coding, architectural, and quality standards throughout the development lifecycle.
• Perform peer code reviews to maintain high application standards.
• Work independently on assigned modules and aid developers and testers with technical issues.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation within project repositories.
• Mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge and supporting their skill development.
• Contribute to recruitment by participating in technical interviews and hiring processes.
• Ensure efficient programming practices without compromising architectural integrity.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years experience in Java backend development.
• Proficient in Java 8+ and J2EE technologies.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Spring Framework and Hibernate ORM.
• Strong skills in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
• Familiarity with Bitbucket for version control.
• Experience writing unit tests and ensuring coverage using JUnit.
• Knowledge of JIRA for task management.
• Background in application development lifecycle including maintenance and testing.
• Skilled in code reviews, impact analysis, and maintaining documentation.

Preferred Credentials

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Computer Science or related field; MCA accepted.
• Experience with Jenkins CI/CD and DevOps pipelines.
• Proficient in Maven for build automation and dependency management.
• Understanding of DevOps best practices.
• Experience optimizing application performance.
• Proven ability to mentor and share technical knowledge.
• Exposure to Agile methodologies.
