Role Overview

We are collaborating with a leading advanced technology client based in Abu Dhabi to find a seasoned Java Software Engineer. This expert will focus on designing and developing backend software tailored for next-generation cellular and secure communication systems. The role demands capabilities to operate within a challenging, distributed, and performance-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate, design, and build state-of-the-art cellular communication software using Kotlin, Java, Akka, Gradle, GitLab, and Docker.
• Engineer backend systems founded on Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Reactive programming paradigms, and actor-model architectures.
• Create, manage, and enhance CI/CD pipelines including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing suites.
• Develop scalable, message-driven, and high-efficiency backend services.
• Collaborate closely with software engineers, architects, and product managers to produce solid technical solutions.
• Contribute to crucial technology and architectural decision-making.
• Engage in Agile multi-disciplinary teams, implementing Agile practices, tools, and mindset.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Extensive professional experience exceeding 10 years in Java and Kotlin development.

Essential Skills and Attributes

• Proficient in functional programming, reactive programming, message-based communication, Domain-Driven Design, and Test-Driven Development.
• Strong competency in interpreting technical documentation and developing tools as per specifications.
• Self-motivated with proven planning and execution skills.
• Effective team collaborator familiar with Agile practices.
• Exceptional analytical thinking, problem-solving, and debugging capabilities.
