Position Overview

The role of Java Backend Developer (Level 3) is based in Chennai or Mumbai, India. We seek an adept professional with 5.1 to 7 years of experience to join the Corporate Credits team. The position involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining backend applications using Java technologies while ensuring top-notch code quality and compliance with project standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical designs and specifications.
• Develop and maintain backend applications employing Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, Oracle SQL, and PL/SQL.
• Conduct application development, maintenance, unit testing, and contribute to thorough regression testing efforts.
• Ensure extensive unit test coverage using JUnit frameworks.
• Participate in DevOps activities utilizing Jenkins, and manage builds with Maven.
• Estimate tasks, perform planning and impact analysis, and regularly report progress to management teams across Paris, India, and ISPL.
• Adhere to coding standards, architectural guidelines, and project quality norms.
• Lead and engage in code reviews to uphold application quality.
• Work independently on assignments while assisting developers and testers with technical guidance.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation within project repositories.
• Mentor junior team members by sharing technical and functional knowledge.
• Contribute to recruitment activities, including technical interviews within ISPL.
• Ensure efficient program development practices without compromising core architecture and design principles.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in Java backend development.
• Proficient with Java 8 or higher and J2EE platforms.
• Hands-on experience with the Spring framework.
• Skilled in using Hibernate for ORM.
• Strong command over Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
• Experience managing source code and version control using Bitbucket.
• Competent in creating unit tests with JUnit.
• Familiarity with JIRA for task tracking and project management.
• Experience covering application development, maintenance, unit testing, and regression testing.
• Comfortable with code review processes, impact analysis, and maintaining technical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related disciplines; MCA is also accepted.
• Experience with Jenkins for continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) and DevOps workflows.
• Knowledge of Maven for automated build and dependency management.
• Understanding of DevOps methodologies and automated deployment processes.
• Expertise in optimizing application performance.
• Proven skills in mentoring and sharing technical knowledge within teams.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
