About the Role
This is a permanent full-time position based in Sydney, Australia with a hybrid working model. The candidate must have full work authorization in Australia (citizenship, permanent residency, or valid visa).
Key Responsibilities and Required Experience
- Design and develop enterprise backend applications using Java versions 11 and 17, employing Spring Boot, Spring Data, and Spring Security frameworks.
- Implement and maintain microservices architectures including RESTful and gRPC APIs, event-driven systems, and messaging platforms such as Kafka and IBM MQ.
- Develop efficient database schemas and optimize performance in PostgreSQL and SQL Server environments, utilizing SQL tuning, indexing strategies, and migration tools like Flyway or Liquibase.
- Design scalable distributed systems focusing on API design, security, reliability, and applying appropriate design patterns.
- Manage containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes; work with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure for deployment and infrastructure management.
- Utilize version control and artifact repositories including Git, Bitbucket, and Artifactory, alongside continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
- Execute comprehensive testing strategies using JUnit, Mockito, Testcontainers, and apply contract testing practices.
