Job Description

The Janitor will be responsible for comprehensive cleaning and upkeep of assigned building areas or multiple client locations. Responsibilities will vary based on client needs and tasks, so flexibility and adaptability are essential.

Work Schedule and Compensation

This role operates Monday through Sunday from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., totaling 35 hours weekly. The position pays $12 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning duties on all floor types, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming.
• Use chemical cleaners and power equipment according to prescribed procedures to avoid damage.
• Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, meeting rooms, corridors, and entryways.
• Dispose of trash properly, utilizing compactors where applicable.
• Clean glass surfaces such as windows, partitions, and mirrors with suitable products and tools.
• Spot clean carpets and support carpet extraction and shampooing processes.
• Restock paper goods and sanitary materials as needed.
• Follow established housekeeping schedules diligently.
• Occasionally operate heavy cleaning machinery including floor scrubbers, backpack vacuums, and buffers.
• Perform additional duties as required by customer specifications or work scope.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or at least six months experience in janitorial work.
• Willingness to undergo on-the-job training.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to comprehend and follow instructions effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in cleaning or janitorial roles.
• Knowledge of custodial standards and commercial cleaning practices.
• Understanding of floor care techniques such as buffing and waxing.
• Experience with industrial cleaning or facilities maintenance is a plus.
