Job description
About the Role
We seek a meticulous ITI Electrical Engineer to play a key role in the assembly, wiring, testing, and upkeep of electrical systems within surgical robotic platforms. This position requires practical assembly work, rigorous quality testing, and collaboration with design and quality assurance teams to ensure all electrical parts adhere to the stringent precision and safety criteria demanded in medical robotics.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, and wire electrical panels, control units, and cable harnesses tailored for robotic surgical instruments.
- Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and circuit designs accurately.
- Conduct continuity and insulation resistance tests and perform basic electrical troubleshooting.
- Assist in integrating sensors, motors, actuators, and PCB assemblies into robotic sub-systems.
- Carry out routine inspections, calibrations, and preventive electrical maintenance activities.
- Document assembly procedures, testing outcomes, and any non-conformance incidents thoroughly.
- Adhere strictly to ISO 13485 standards and medical device quality and safety protocols during assembly and testing.
- Collaborate effectively with mechanical, electronics, and quality teams to ensure efficient product assembly.
- Maintain compliance with electrostatic discharge (ESD) protocols when handling sensitive components.
Qualifications and Skills
- ITI or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum two years of practical experience in electrical assembly, wiring, or testing.
- Solid understanding of fundamental electrical circuits, wiring regulations, and safety procedures.
- Proficient with multimeters, soldering equipment, crimping tools, and cable harness creation.
- Competent in reading technical drawings and electrical bills of materials (BOMs).
- Basic knowledge of control panels, relays, sensors, and low-voltage electrical systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail and precision, vital for handling medical-grade products.
