Job description
Role Overview
This position involves the analysis, design, planning, optimization, and governance of cost-effective IT infrastructure solutions both on-premises and in the cloud. The aim is to create, manage, and streamline a scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-efficient IT infrastructure ecosystem encompassing data centers, cloud services, networks, storage, and servers aligned with the long-term strategy of the organization.
Core Responsibilities
- Design and architect robust, highly available IT network and infrastructure systems, including computing resources, storage, virtualization, security mechanisms, and cloud platforms tailored to business standards.
- Collaborate with the IT team to assess network and software designs for conformity with architectural principles, lead technical discussions, present concepts to stakeholders, and evaluate emerging infrastructure technologies for potential adoption.
- Establish and enforce IT infrastructure architecture standards and policies, ensuring compliance with security, regulatory, and operational mandates. Conduct architecture reviews and offer technical guidance and approvals within governance frameworks to project teams and consultants.
- Define success metrics, continuously analyze risks, identify potential issues for project success, and escalate concerns as necessary.
- Monitor capacity trends, propose appropriate infrastructure scaling strategies, support performance tuning, availability planning, lifecycle management, and develop disaster recovery as well as high availability strategies.
- Exhibit solid understanding of telecommunications networks and cloud technologies.
- Demonstrate substantial experience in network and architecture design management within complex and large-scale environments.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications or an equivalent field, with a master's degree being advantageous.
- Minimum of five years of experience in IT network and infrastructure architecture in a telecom or equivalent enterprise-grade environment.
- Professional certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP Enterprise, Data & AI certifications, and Security Certifications like CISSP or CompTIA Security+.
- Hands-on expertise with multiple cloud platforms including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
- TOGAF certification in enterprise architecture and mandatory cloud certification.
- In-depth knowledge of networking technologies (LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, firewalls, load balancers), virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM), operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), and identity and access management.
- Experience with infrastructure automation and DevOps tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in disaster recovery planning, backup solutions, and high availability architecture.
