Role Overview
As an iOS Software Engineer at ActAI, you will take full ownership of the iOS client experience. Your work will influence how AI responds and performs on users' devices. This role involves developing a robust, production-grade iOS app where AI-driven interactions are fundamental, and priorities include performance, reliability, and building user trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI frameworks.
- Incorporate AI-powered capabilities through backend API integrations.
- Create UX designs tailored for AI interactions, managing states like loading, streaming outputs, retries, and fallback mechanisms.
- Optimize application for performance, memory consumption, and battery efficiency.
- Collect user signals and feedback to enhance AI evaluation and iterative improvements.
- Collaborate closely with backend and machine learning engineers in API design and systemic behavior.
- Ensure the application meets high standards of App Store quality, stability, and reliable production operation.
Ideal Experience and Skills
- Over 3 years of professional experience in iOS development using Swift.
- Practical experience integrating AI-driven features within mobile applications.
- Deep understanding of async/await patterns, concurrency, and managing background tasks.
- Proficiency in optimizing iOS app performance and memory usage.
- Track record of shipping and maintaining production-level iOS apps.
- Expertise in designing for network latency, potential failures, and unpredictable AI behaviors.
- Exposure to CoreML and on-device machine learning techniques.
- Familiarity with feature flagging or remote configuration tools.
- Keen sensitivity to AI user experience patterns and trust-building considerations.

- Deliver stable, smooth, and dependable iOS applications suitable for real-world scenarios.
- Enhance application responsiveness, reduce latency, and improve resource efficiency concerning memory and CPU.
- Implement early detection and monitoring mechanisms for production issues, followed by thorough root-cause analysis and timely resolution.
