Position Overview
The Inventory Officer role centers on meticulously tracking stock quantities, maintaining precise inventory records, and collaborating closely with procurement, warehouse, and sales teams to ensure appropriate stock availability. This position plays a vital part in preserving inventory accuracy, reducing losses, and enabling efficient supply chain processes.
Key Duties
- Monitor and record inventory levels accurately.
- Perform regular physical stock counts and resolve any inconsistencies.
- Work in partnership with procurement and warehouse staff to facilitate timely stock replenishment.
- Ensure adherence to inventory control guidelines and food safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a cognate discipline.
- Additional certifications in inventory or warehouse management such as CILT or APICS are beneficial.
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or logistics.
- Skilled in stock monitoring, conducting inventory audits, and reconciliation activities.
- Familiarity with inventory management software and established industry practices.
Working Environment and Conditions
- Primary duties performed in a warehouse environment with occasional office-based data entry tasks.
- Job requires physical activity including standing for extended periods, lifting items, and working within refrigerated storage areas.
- Shift schedules may involve working weekends and during peak production seasons.
