Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Inventory Officer for our Mobility division based in Mombasa to ensure precise tracking and recording of all mobility inventory assets as we expand across Kenya. This position is vital in maintaining stock accuracy, managing real-time data entry at the serial number level, and ensuring all inventory records are auditable and current.

M-KOPA's Mobility division is revolutionizing urban transportation by providing affordable electric motorcycles to everyday Kenyans. This role collaborates with various teams including Inventory, Finance, Retail, Product, Customer Care, and Customer Performance, operating in a fast-paced environment where detail and accuracy are paramount.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify and receive all incoming stock from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), checking units physically and reconciling with purchase orders and documentation.
- Receipt all incoming stock promptly into Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), capturing serial numbers, chassis numbers, and item codes accurately.
- Manage outbound stock processes including issues, transfers, returns, and adjustments through D365 and Zoho CRM; prepare necessary outbound documentation.
- Maintain real-time updates and ≥99% accuracy of all stock movements across systems.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with monthly physical stock takes; report discrepancies and perform root cause analyses.
- Oversee returns of batteries and other units, managing their condition assessment and refurbishment lifecycle.
- Manage inventory for free trial and loaner bikes, tracking allocations, returns, conditions, and system records.
- Ensure all purchase orders are correctly and timely receipted and maintain comprehensive transaction records.
- Provide daily reporting on stock activities and variances, analyze inventory data, and suggest improvements to processes.
- Assist Finance with monthly reconciliations and maintain audit-ready documentation; support internal and external audits.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- Between 2 to 4 years of practical experience in inventory management, stock control, or related operational functions.
- Hands-on expertise with ERP systems, especially Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and inventory report generation.
- Knowledge of inventory control methods including FIFO, serial and batch tracking, cycle counts, and stock valuation.
- Exceptional attention to detail with an aptitude for detecting and resolving inventory discrepancies at the unit level.
- Experience in automotive, electric vehicle, or mobility sectors and familiarity with Zoho CRM is an advantage.
