Job description
About the Role
We are currently looking for a meticulous and organized Inventory Controller to manage inventory accuracy, stock movements, and control activities efficiently. This position involves collaboration with Warehouse, Procurement, Logistics, Finance, and Operations teams to maintain optimal stock levels and accurate inventory records whilst enabling smooth inventory processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee inventory quantities across various warehouses and storage areas.
- Keep precise documentation of stock receipts, issues, transfers, adjustments, and returns.
- Perform routine physical counts, cycle counts, and inventory auditing procedures.
- Analyze and investigate any stock discrepancies to determine causes.
- Reconcile physical counts with records in ERP, WMS, and other relevant systems.
- Track stock levels to identify shortages, surpluses, slow movers, or obsolete goods.
- Liaise with Warehouse and Operations teams to ensure accurate handling and recording of stock.
- Assist with stock replenishment efforts to sustain adequate supply levels.
- Verify inventory transactions including delivery documentation and stock adjustments.
- Produce detailed reports on inventory status, stock movements, variances, and performance metrics.
- Implement corrective measures to address inventory discrepancies and maintain accuracy.
- Support the handling and management of damaged, expired, obsolete, or excess inventory.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and standard procedures for inventory control.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Logistics, Finance, and related departments to resolve inventory concerns.
- Suggest process enhancements to improve accuracy, reduce losses, and boost operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills
- Demonstrated experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or stock management roles.
- Solid comprehension of inventory management principles and warehouse control processes.
- Proficiency in executing physical stock counts and investigating discrepancies.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Understanding of stock turnover, replenishment, and related inventory control practices.
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel and familiar with inventory management software.
- Knowledge of ERP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is advantageous.
- Effective organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks.
- Capability to work autonomously and in collaboration with diverse teams.
- Clear and professional communication skills for issue resolution and coordination.
- Ability to operate efficiently in a dynamic warehouse or operations setting.
- Educational background in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Warehouse Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
