Job description

Overview

The Inventory Analyst plays a crucial role in overseeing and analyzing inventory data to guarantee stock accuracy, optimize inventory levels, and support warehouse and supply chain operations through comprehensive reporting, root cause analysis, and improvements in processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track inventory performance indicators utilizing ERP/WMS reports, including metrics on stock availability, item movements, shortages, and identification of excess or slow-moving inventory.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of inventory discrepancies between system records and physical stock, examining Goods Receipt/Purchase Order receipts, transfers, and adjustments.
  • Assist in cycle counting and physical inventory procedures, monitor results, and ensure that discrepancies are resolved efficiently.
  • Generate and distribute inventory reports such as aging reports, stock status updates, discrepancy summaries, and KPI dashboards.
  • Work closely with teams from Warehouse, Procurement, Planning, and Logistics to uphold data accuracy and collaboratively solve inventory-related issues.
  • Verify the accuracy of item master data, bin, and location setups; support and implement updates as required.
  • Contribute to forecasting and replenishment decisions by supplying accurate inventory insights.
  • Ensure compliance with Warehouse Management System (WMS) processes and aid in refining inventory workflows and internal controls.
  • Maintain thorough documentation related to inventory transactions, analytic findings, and actions taken for continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Between 1 and 3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse analysis, or ERP/WMS reporting is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles, including stock accuracy, cycle counting, variance analysis, and aging of inventory.
  • Proficiency in ERP/WMS software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables and formula-based reporting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines for reporting outputs.
  • Effective communication skills to facilitate coordination across multiple departments.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics or similar ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of WMS operations and established inventory control procedures.
  • Basic understanding of key inventory performance indicators such as fill rate, shrinkage, adjustments, and accuracy percentages.
