Role and Projects

As part of the team, you will engage in tangible projects from our roadmap such as:

• Conducting chaos engineering and load testing to deliberately push our systems to their limits, ensuring we understand impacts of 10x traffic surges or unexpected service outages.
• Implementing an AI Harness that integrates advanced tooling and workflows across engineering to enhance code shipping, review, and debugging processes, far beyond simple chatbots.
• Developing robust disaster recovery including full regional failover capabilities that maintain seamless transactions even if an entire cloud region fails.

• Problem-solving driven: work independently from business challenges, conduct market research, run experiments, and design solutions without strict specifications or traditional sprint rituals.

Candidate Profile

• A minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience delivering software to end users, demonstrating the ability to build dependable systems and learn from practical challenges.
• Strong written communication skills suited for an asynchronous work environment.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity by engaging directly with users and defining requirements.

Additional Information

• Lack of AWS experience is not a barrier; experience with other cloud providers like GCP or Azure suffices, with support provided for AWS upskilling.
• Location flexibility is embraced; you can work from your preferred place regardless of Auckland residency.

Interview Process

• An initial one-hour video meeting to introduce you to the role and company.
• A take-home assignment requiring 2-4 hours for completion at your convenience.
• A one-hour video code review discussing your submission and design choices.
• A concluding 30-minute discussion with the CEO and CTO.
