About the Role
We are inviting an Accountant to become a part of our well-established Boutique Accounting Practice located near the CBD in Nedlands, Western Suburbs. You will join a tight-knit team of accountants and collaborate closely with the Director.
This position involves daily interaction with a diverse array of clients, assisting with tax return preparation, managing client portfolios to optimize tax outcomes, advising on business services and operations, tax planning, and client communication as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare tax returns and financial statements for individuals, companies, and trusts.
- Engage proactively with clients to foster and maintain strong relationships.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining clients’ accounting systems, primarily Xero and CAS360, along with support for MYOB and QuickBooks users.
- Prepare BAS statements.
- Carry out annual tax planning activities.
- Perform ASIC-related duties.
- Support routine business services on daily, monthly, and quarterly bases.
Candidate Profile
- Either progressing through CPA certification or holding full CPA/CA qualifications.
- At least two years of experience within Australian public practice accounting.
- Familiarity with Xero client files, Xero Practice Management, CAS360, and FYI Docs is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated expertise in preparing financial reports.
- Commitment to accuracy in deliverables.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for client interaction.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Understanding the complexities involved in running a business.
- Identify opportunities to enhance processes and deliver added value to clients.
- Must be an Australian Citizen or Resident.
