Interior Designer - Event and Décor

Overview

We are seeking an innovative and client-oriented Interior Designer to be a vital part of our Banquet Event and Décor team in Bhandup, Mumbai. This full-time, on-site position suits individuals passionate about weddings, social gatherings, corporate events, and banquet décor, offering a blend of design creativity and client engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Create bespoke, upscale décor themes and concepts tailored for weddings, social occasions, corporate functions, and banquet events.
• Interpret client needs, event themes, personal preferences, and budgets into feasible décor solutions.
• Design event elements such as stages, entrances, backdrops, mandaps, seating plans, dining arrangements, and photo areas.
• Develop 2D layouts, sketches, mood boards, presentations, and visual design proposals.
• Choose appropriate materials, finishes, furnishings, fabrics, decorative props, lighting, and accents aligned with the concept and financial plans.
• Keep abreast of the latest trends in Indian and global wedding and event decoration.
• Engage with clients to grasp their event visions and lifestyle expectations, presenting detailed décor proposals to ensure clarity and satisfaction.
• Incorporate client feedback, refining designs and offering alternatives as needed.
• Serve as the point of contact throughout the décor booking and execution phases, maintaining professional follow-ups.
• Collaborate closely with vendors, including decorators, fabricators, florists, furniture suppliers, and lighting teams, fostering strong relationships and assisting in price negotiations.
• Oversee logistical planning, including manpower and materials coordination for events.
• Supervise on-site execution to guarantee alignment with agreed designs, while managing quality control, aesthetic standards, and timelines.
• Adapt swiftly to last-minute client requests and unforeseen execution challenges with professionalism.

Candidate Profile

• 4 to 5 years of relevant experience in Interior Design, Event/Exhibition Design, Hospitality Design, or Event Décor.
• Graduate or Diploma holder in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related design discipline.
• Strong grasp of space planning principles, layout composition, proportions, material properties, colors, finishes, and overall aesthetics.
• Excellent creative acumen complemented by meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficient with 2D design and presentation software; familiarity with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Canva, and PowerPoint is advantageous.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Competent in preparing layouts, mood boards, elevations, presentations, and fundamental drawings.
• Understanding of BOQs, costing, material selection, labor requirements, and project execution.
• Strong client interaction, presentation, and communication capabilities in English and Hindi; knowledge of Gujarati is a plus.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with vendors and execution teams, demonstrating organizational skills and proactivity.
• Capability to manage multiple assignments under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and event setup periods.

Work Schedule & Location

This is a full-time on-site role based in Bhandup, Mumbai. The workweek includes Monday through Sunday, with one weekday off, and requires flexibility in working hours to accommodate event preparations and executions.

Compensation

Monthly salary between INR 30,000 and INR 35,000.
