Interior Design Specialist

Role Overview

This position focuses on inspiring and delighting visitors by showcasing IKEA's home furnishing offerings through compelling visual presentations, aiming to surpass customer expectations, enhance IKEA's brand presence, and increase customer conversion.

The specialist will help position the IKEA store as a powerful commercial platform by integrating global commercial strategies with national and local market plans to uphold the brand's appeal, relevance, and competitiveness, all while driving sales and long-term profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize expertise in home furnishings to design functional and inspiring room setups, including vignettes and sales support areas, all aligned with IKEA’s brand identity.
• Collect insights from home visits and customer preferences to tailor home furnishing solutions that are functional, aesthetic, and commercially relevant locally.
• Assist in developing the Showroom Matrix to present a diverse range of styles, living situations, and price points with clear visual impact.
• Prioritize high standards, simplicity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness when planning and implementing product presentations, using global IKEA tools and best practices.
• Employ IKEA Revit software, libraries, and templates to prepare and finalize commercial planning and compilation documents within set deadlines.
• Keep abreast of trends in home furnishings, retail, and markets; contribute innovative ideas in workshops and planning meetings.
• Support the departmental action plan through initiatives aimed at business growth, sales enhancement, and sustained profitability.
• Collaborate closely with Communication & Interior teams and other departments to implement agreed strategies and pinpoint commercial opportunities.
• Understand and consider the financial implications of actions ensuring efficient use of resources.
• Maintain a strong customer-centric approach, ensuring minimal disruption and safety on the shop floor with consistently positive visual presentation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related discipline.
• Open to fresh graduates; candidates with 2 or more years of relevant experience have an advantage.
• Familiarity with Revit software is preferred.
• Genuine interest in home furnishing, interior design, retail, and contemporary trends.
• Strong aesthetic sense, with skill in balancing functionality and commercial appeal.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple teams and departments.
• Excellent planning, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
