Job description
About the Role
This role requires managing and coordinating all technical, physical, functional, and operational interfaces among various construction packages, contractors, disciplines, and existing airport facilities and systems. The position is crucial due to the multi-package scope, including Passenger Terminal, BHS, CUP, SAS/ICT, PBB, aircraft services, security, screening, utilities, and related airport infrastructure components.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and handle technical, operational, and physical interfaces across contractors, disciplines, packages, and current airport systems.
- Maintain and update the Interface Register including responsibilities, timelines, risks, and current status.
- Create and manage Interface Control Documents (ICDs), boundary definitions, and responsibility charts as needed.
- Coordinate and resolve scope gaps and overlaps between work packages.
- Ensure interface milestones and dependencies are integrated into design, procurement, and construction schedules.
- Provide early warnings on unresolved interface issues impacting critical path, cost, quality, commissioning, or existing airport operations.
- Review design and shop drawings, BIM models, and technical documents to confirm interdisciplinary and cross-package consistency and integration.
- Guarantee compatibility between architectural, structural, MEP, ICT, and specialized airport operational systems.
- Coordinate integration between new systems and existing airport infrastructure and operational facilities.
- Support development and upkeep of Integration and Commissioning Interface matrices and ensure interface requirements are reflected in testing and commissioning phases including ORAT activities.
- Maintain updated records for all interfaces, track resolution statuses, technical queries, and approval processes.
- Provide regular progress and risk reports highlighting interface issues and milestones.
- Support QA/QC and HSE teams by documenting integration considerations in inspections and risk assessments.
- Manage proper filing and traceability of interface documentation via Document Control systems such as Aconex.
- Identify technical conflicts and risks due to integration gaps and propose mitigation plans.
- Liaise with Resident Engineers, Design Consultants, Engineers, and Contractors to resolve interface issues efficiently.
- Participate frequently in coordination meetings, technical workshops, and design reviews to ensure proactive conflict resolution.
- Ensure interface closures are based on formal documentation, implementation, and testing rather than correspondence alone.
- Facilitate cross-disciplinary coordination and ensure all teams understand their interface responsibilities and deadlines.
- Assist supervision teams and clients in verifying integration requirements and offer technical recommendations for design improvements.
- Support client meetings with technical reviews and presentations related to integration and interface management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
- 7 to 10 years experience in construction projects, including minimum 3 years in supervision or consultancy roles.
- Essential prior experience in airport projects.
- Proven expertise in interface and system integration management across multidisciplinary construction projects.
- Experience dealing with multi-contractor environments and managing complex interfaces.
- Familiarity with project management, design reviews, and technical coordination processes.
- Knowledge of Document Management Systems such as Aconex or SharePoint.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, report-writing, and communication skills.
Core Competencies

- Proactive problem identification and solution development.
- Meticulous attention to details in tracking and resolving technical issues.
