Job description
Role Overview
This position involves gathering, assessing, analyzing, and distributing timely intelligence information to designated agency personnel and external partners. The role plays a critical part in recognizing and reporting intelligence-related issues to aid decision-making and reduce risks to both the agency and the wider community.
Primary Responsibilities
- Identify and maintain human intelligence sources, including prisoners, staff, and visitors.
- Analyze data from the Prisoner Telephone System and call records.
- Evaluate mail-related data as part of intelligence collection.
- Review information in Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) indices and intelligence systems.
- Use the QCS intelligence system to document and retain information effectively.
- Apply charting techniques and mathematical modeling to reveal connections and relationships between entities.
- Utilize statistical records to direct intelligence collation efforts.
- Employ the IOMS intelligence module for data management.
- Record analytical findings in the QCS Intelligence System.
- Formulate operational and tactical hypotheses concerning security risks within correctional facilities.
- Use approved QCS Intelligence Group (QCSIG) methodologies, including office automation tools and specialized intelligence software like Analyst Notebook.
- Communicate outcomes of intelligence analyses via the QCS Intelligence system.
- Conduct Escape Risk Assessments as required.
- Perform assessments that support placement decisions using endorsed formats, producing oral and written intelligence briefings following QCS information dissemination protocols.
- Contribute to the creation of intelligence collection plans and operational action plans.
- Support partner agencies under the supervision of the QCS Intelligence Group.
- Engage in center-based collaboration initiatives to promote effective partnerships.
