Job Overview and Responsibilities
As an Insurance Manager, you will oversee the assessment and management of the company's corporate insurance needs. Your role involves implementing effective insurance reporting mechanisms across departments, including presenting findings to executive leadership, the Audit Committee, and the Board when required. You will provide consultative support to various business units aimed at reducing risk while enhancing control frameworks to safeguard the company's reputation.
You will also collaborate actively with insurance-related committees, making recommendations for approval by pertinent authorities. Ensuring comprehensive training and skill development for personnel engaged in insurance functions will be part of your duty, alongside conducting awareness sessions for directors and senior leadership. Managing relationships with external insurance vendors and advisors to guarantee excellent service quality and streamlined processes is essential. Exploring self-insurance strategies, such as captive insurance, to identify cost-efficiency opportunities will also be expected. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Chief Financial Officer or supervisor as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements
- Possess a bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 8 to 10 years of full-time corporate insurance or related experience.
- At least 3 years serving in supervisory or managerial roles within insurance or risk domains.
- Demonstrate strong expertise in insurance programs, methods, and products, with the capability to influence and lead stakeholders.
- Adopt a control-focused approach in managing risks and processes.
- Experience working in similar organizational settings that emphasize stakeholder and customer value creation.
- Professional certifications in insurance or risk management (e.g., FCII, ACII) are highly desirable.
- Excellent command of written communication, able to produce detailed reports and professional business documents with clarity. Proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
- Competency in Microsoft Office software suite.
