Job description

Role Overview

The Insurance Associate supports various insurance operations, encompassing policy management, customer service, claims coordination, underwriting assistance, documentation, and account handling. This role involves collaboration with clients, insurers, brokers, underwriters, claims teams, finance departments, and other internal stakeholders to uphold accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism throughout insurance workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage insurance applications, including policy issuance, renewals, endorsements, amendments, cancellations, and associated documentation.
  • Evaluate customer details, coverage needs, premiums, limits, exclusions, policy provisions, and requisite documents.
  • Generate quotations, proposals, certificates, policy schedules, reports, and official correspondence.
  • Address customer inquiries related to policies, coverage, premiums, claims, renewals, and account concerns.
  • Coordinate effectively with insurers, brokers, underwriters, claims units, surveyors, adjusters, and service providers.
  • Support claims management by gathering documentation, reviewing claim data, tracking progress, and communicating status updates.
  • Maintain precise records of customers, policies, claims, transactions, and accounts.
  • Update data within insurance management systems, CRM tools, and internal databases.
  • Monitor renewal deadlines, payment timetables, outstanding documents, and necessary follow-ups.
  • Assist premium calculations, invoice generation, payment processing, reconciliations, and account administration tasks.
  • Review insurance documents for accuracy, completeness, and internal consistency; identify gaps or discrepancies.
  • Provide support in underwriting activities by organizing applications, risks, client data, and supplementary materials.
  • Conduct research into insurance products, market trends, client demands, and industry developments.
  • Help with policy comparisons and perform basic risk assessments.
  • Prepare reports, summaries, presentations, and operational dashboards.
  • Ensure confidentiality of customer, financial, business, and policy details.
  • Assist in audits, internal reviews, and quality control measures.
  • Comply with relevant insurance laws, data protection policies, internal controls, and company guidelines.
  • Utilize digital insurance platforms, automation, analytics, artificial intelligence, and document processing technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate communication with customers and follow up on pending requests.
  • Strive for continuous improvement in policy management, customer service quality, documentation accuracy, workflow efficiency, and overall insurance operations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Risk Management, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of insurance fundamentals including policies, administration, coverage, premiums, exclusions, claims, and renewals.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in handling policy documents, customer information, financial records, and claim files.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, customer service, organizational, and administrative competencies.
  • Analytical aptitude with numerical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with insurance management systems, CRM software, policy administration applications, document management tools, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience or knowledge of various insurance lines such as property, casualty, life, health, motor, commercial, travel, or specialty insurance is advantageous.
  • Understanding of underwriting, claims processes, policy servicing, risk evaluation, and insurance operations is beneficial.
  • Exposure to InsurTech innovations, digital claims processing, automation, predictive analytics, AI-supported underwriting, and automated document workflows is beneficial.
  • Strong commitment to safeguarding confidential client, financial, and policy data.
  • Effective coordination with customers, brokers, insurers, underwriters, claims teams, finance departments, and internal parties.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple policies, requests, renewals, deadlines, and administrative obligations.
  • Awareness of insurance compliance, data privacy laws, KYC requirements, and industry regulations is a plus.
  • Competency in report preparation, maintaining accurate records, and adherence to protocols.
  • Relevant professional insurance certifications or qualifications are preferred.
  • High levels of integrity, professionalism, reliability, accountability, and dedication to customer service excellence.
  • Enthusiasm for ongoing professional development and staying current with insurance products, InsurTech, risk management, automation, AI-based insurance solutions, and industry trends.
