Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled and innovative Video Editor to transform raw footage and conceptual ideas into captivating, well-crafted video materials. The editor will oversee the entire editing workflow starting from initial footage examination to the final output, guaranteeing that each video conveys its intended message, style, and branding effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and assess raw video clips.
- Create preliminary and polished edits with refined pacing and narrative flow.
- Choose suitable music tracks and sound effects to complement videos.
- Apply transitions, graphics, color corrections, and visual effects as needed.
- Partner with creative teams and stakeholders to grasp content goals and interpret creative direction.
- Ensure consistent visual quality, sound clarity, branding, and presentation across multiple video formats and distribution channels.
- Exercise strong editorial judgment, enhance storytelling opportunities, and tailor content for various aspect ratios and digital platforms.
Candidate Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Film, Media, Communications, Multimedia, Digital Arts, or allied disciplines.
- In-depth knowledge of video editing concepts, storytelling techniques, composition, pacing, and structure.
- Hands-on proficiency with editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or equivalents.
- Familiarity with motion graphics and visual effects tools such as Adobe After Effects is a plus.
- Expertise in color grading, correction, audio editing, transitions, typography, and visual effects.
- Ability to curate and arrange footage to produce engaging narratives.
- Strong creative vision and meticulous attention to detail.
- Capability to follow creative briefs, adhere to brand standards, and simultaneously contribute innovative ideas.
- Keen understanding of video formats, codecs, resolutions, frame rates, aspect ratios, and platform requirements.
- Adaptability to craft videos suited for social media, online platforms, marketing, and communication channels.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Efficient organizational and time management skills to juggle multiple editing tasks within deadlines.
- Proactive mindset, flexible attitude, and receptive to feedback and revisions.
